How Long do Dental Implants Last?

When people lose their teeth for any reason, the most preferable method of treatment is a dental implant. There are different reasons for losing teeth as, according to aging the structure of the jaw might change and may lead to teeth loss, it might be because of tooth decay or as a result of an injury. Before the treatment, the structure of the jaw and the bones will be checked to make sure that they are suitable for the treatment. There are different types of methods for dental implants. The doctor will decide which method is suitable for the patient according to their needs. A dental implant is a prosthetic tooth that will be implanted in the jawbone to replace the lost tooth.

(This is valid for one tooth) during this period the prosthetic tooth and the rehearsal will be placed on top of the implant. The period for a healthy and complete treatment differs and takes from 2 months up to 9 months. This period varies for each patient.

The patient should protect the mouth area from any sort of force or pressure during the treatment period, it’s important to keep away from consuming hard foods, and avoid extremely cold or hot foods, this care will allow the implant to fuse to the jawbone more quickly.
